Tightening torque, stainless steel/acid-resistant bolted joint –
metric coarse thread

The following table specifies values for tightening torque for waxed products.Consideration has been given to the fact that the tensile strength values according to SS-ISO 3506-1 for stainless steel bolts do not correspond with the values for normal steel bolts.

For stainless steel bolts (including acid-resistant bolts) to be prestressed, effective lubrication is required.Without lubrication, the threads can seize.
Striking machines must not be used when tightening stainless steel joints.

Tightening torque (Mv) in Nm applies to waxed stainless steel (including acid-resistant) bolted joints when using a torque wrench or screwdriver/impact wrench with torque control.Torque variation max. ±5%.

Note! Table does not apply for High-strength structural bolting assemblies acc with EN 14399-1, instructions can be found in EN 1090-2
